To the extent that it is possible DX10SF displays legacy scenery and aircraft with proper textures.

Note: Some information is lost by the product core and so some small compromises have to be accepted.

Aircraft Shadows

  • Shadow Tone – shadows are coloured with the ambient lighting and so blend seamlessly with surfaces that face away from the sun.

  • Shadow Accuracy – shadow placement is much improved so shadows start close to the shadowing object.

  • VC Shadow Quality – VC shadows are softened and improved

  • HD Shadows – for larger aircraft the shadow resolution is improved

  • Shadow Fading – The fading of shadows as visibility reduces can be adjusted to strengthen shadows.

  • Legacy Aircraft self shadowing and VC shadows

    Hello Steve!

What are the difference features between DX10SF (Freeware version) and the DX10 Fixer (payware version)?

    • stevefsx says:

The pay ware fixes legacy scenery which is otherwise grey, has better shadows especially in big jets and fixes more scenery

      • Abdoulaye says:

Ok Thanks!! But what about AI Traffic aircraft under DX10 Fixer (ICE AI traffic or Sky AI Traffic). Is it fully compatible now??

      • stevefsx says:

I believe that WofAI aircraft work ok with it ( with a few exceptions) best to ask for confirmation on avsim or sim outhouse

    Hi Steve

What is the size of the installation of DX10 Fixer Scenery? Is it lower than 1GB?

  3. Paul says:

Hi Steve, bought this marvellous program in May 2015 and wondered where I can get the updates from?

  4. Paul Dorai-Raj says:

Hi Steve, I bought your program about a month ago and have been absolutely loving it!
Strange thing happened taxing out of Gatwick (Aerosoft add-on), but also out of Orbx’s Southampton- the progressive taxi indicators were nowhere to be seen! I had never had a problem with viewing them before.
I did make a couple of changes in your configurator which I only remembered after the event. The most significant one was disabling the 8 bit texture fix- could this be the source of my problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Steve

A question that is probably covered many times already but the DX10 fixer does the free/paid version fix the black box issues?

    • stevefsx says:

If you mean the fsx global lights then yes they do.

      • Nick says:

It is on fly tampa Athens, there are boxes in the fields in the middle of the day. I am not sure that it installed correctly, I am running FSX SE (not in the programs folder of the pc) I’m not sure if that should matter on the install.

      • Nick says:

I think its not installing correctly for me as it is still visible as boxes, I have fsx in a custom location and also it is Steam Edition. the mod that I am using is Fly Tampa Athens where I see black boxes in the fields (not related to lighting as its in the day time)

      • stevefsx says:

Flytampa are legacy sceneries and you need the payware fixer for that. It’s worth checking what flytampa say about dx10 support for the airports that you have

  6. Rafael Benezra says:

Hello Steve I would like to purchase your fixer but I would like to know if it works on P3D v3 thanks

    • stevefsx says:

No it doesn’t. You don’t need the fixer for p3d it runs in dx11 and they have fixed all the issues inherited from the fsx dx10 implementation on which it is I think based.

I have problem with my shadow ground eliminates active AI traffic Skai traffic. Any solution?

  8. Simon Clark says:

I have lost my issue of DX10 Scenery due to HDD failure. Do I need to re-license.

  9. John says:

    Hello Steve,
you could put this addon in steam?

  10. Nikolofos says:

Hey there, I just bought a new PC and and wanted to setup my FSX again. The problem is, that I am using Windows 10 so i am needed to use the DirectX Preview, otherwise my screen stays black. But as you already now the runway is flashing and i cant see thing at night, also other airplanes of my AI traffic are just white. I have an AMD R9 390 Nitro graphics card. Want do i need to purchase so these problems are fixed? Is there a solution at all?

    Thanks for any information!

    • stevefsx says:

yes the purchase button at the top of the page takes you to my shop. The fixer should fix most issues, read the warning about AMD and AA level though. There are free patches that I created which will fix just the runway flashing but they wont fix the white aircraft.

  11. Simon Clark says:

I have been running both Steam and Microsoft FSX on my Newish PC in Windows 10 and have had No problems when not using DX 10 Preview(Some Airplanes can’t operate in DX10). I am however using a Nvidia GFX Card.

  12. Oscar Warringtom says:

Does your dx10 fixer fix the problem of ORBX 3d night lighting showing up as black squares during the day?

  13. Pete Klapwyk says:

I have installed 3D Shaders v3.11 I am very happy with the way my FSX_se is working in DX10.. Will your payware DX10 fixer work as is or do I need to delete, backup or change anything before installing your payware version. If there are enough instructions included in your DX fixer I will go ahead and order your latest version. Thanks for all the work you have done for all us simmers.

  14. Michael Houghton says:

    Dear Steve,
I have just purchased Approaching Quito for FSX. I use DX10 and your scenery fixer. However there are some flashing textures around the airport buildings which I understand from the aeroosoft forum may be related to me using DX10 preview. Unfortunately running the scenery fixer program has not resolved the problem. Is this something you will be able to rectify. I have created a video which runs from my dropbox which demonstrates the problem.

Thank-you for your help and the program.

    worked Thanks.

    • stevefsx says:

      Sorry for any inconvenience.

      • Warren Alexander says:

Hi Steve – I think that you covered it – maybe even a hundred times, but I really wanted to know for sure. I have several Fly Tampa scenery. The other day when on the approach at CYYZ, after installing FTXG, I noticed many, many black squares. Do you know if the DX Fixer will resolve the issue? WIndows 7-64 bit. High end Alienware Laptop. Thx.

      • stevefsx says:

the fixer fixes the ftx global black lights assuming you are using dx10 preview.

  16. Mark Dustin says:

Hi Steve! I’m just wondering does this fix have bigger impact on FPS?

  17. Mark Dustin says:

    heyo stevie boy!

I’m wondering if this has bigger impact compared to the old dx10 or this lightens the FPS?

    • stevefsx says:

It’s broadly performance neutral compare to running dx10 preview in fsx.

There are some minor optimisation on clouds which can gain a small amount in heavy cloud.

  18. Louis says:

If I enable DX10 preview in FSX it crashes after 20min. In DX9 it never crashes. Will the crash be fixed when I use the DX10 fixer? Or can i use some other tweaks and programs, that it doesnt crashes? I saw the bugs in DX10 so if the DX10 mode would work i would buy the fixer. Thank you 🙂

I lost my download link and ı can not update 3.1 version
